Deck of Retribution

About

Gene Hamil, an artist and filmmaker, first came up with the idea for the Deck of Retribution while working on stories for Twisted Carnival. Intrigued by the concepts behind the fictional deck, he decided to create a real one that functions similarly to traditional tarot cards.

In Fiction

The MuLocks managed to ensnare Norman Barley and his cannibalistic Twisted Carnival cohorts within a card deck dubbed the Deck of Misfortune.

Following their escape from the deck, Norman tasked his former MuLock tribe member, LoSho, with crafting a rival deck called the Deck of Retribution.

Norman’s ultimate aim is to utilize the Deck of Retribution to obliterate the MuLocks once and for all.

In Reality

The Deck of Retribution bears resemblance to Tarot cards but features a unique reading system capable of revealing a person’s past, present, future, and dangers of retributions.

In contrast to the traditional Tarot deck with approximately 78 cards, the Deck of Retribution comprises of only 13 cards. However, despite its seemingly limited number, this deck possesses significant power and effectively fulfills its intended purpose.

When this deck is combined with the Deck of Misfortune, the cards will act as more powerful influencers to the Deck of Misfortune readings.

Titles of the cards are left off on the sample below.
