Cathie Jung, a resident of the United States born in 1937, holds the title for the smallest waist according to Guinness World Records. Standing at a height of 1.72 meters (5 feet 8 inches), her corseted waist measures 38.1 centimeters (15 inches). Without the corset, her waist measures 53.34 centimeters (21 inches).

Cathie’s fascination with Victorian fashion inspired her to embark on a unique journey. At the age of 38, she began wearing a training belt that measured 15.24 centimeters (6 inches) in order to gradually reduce her waist size, which was then 66.4 centimeters (26 inches). Remarkably, she achieved her desired waist size without resorting to surgical procedures.

Since 1983, Cathie has been dedicated to wearing a corset for approximately 23 hours a day, removing it only during her daily shower. Her commitment to maintaining her small waist is admirable, especially considering that she does not follow a specialized diet or engage in rigorous exercise routines.

Cathie, a mother of three, clarifies that her objective was never to set a record. Instead, her focus has always been on dressing in a manner that aligns with the aesthetics of the Victorian era and the appropriate attire for her age.
