Gene Hamil

Gene is a versatile self-taught IT technician, web designer, graphic designer, video director, professional photographer, marketer, and video editor.

In 1996, he met Derek Johnson, who taught him the essentials of computer repair and networking, as well as the value of self-education.

By 1997, Gene was immersed in Adobe Photoshop, mastering graphic design, and in 1998, he learned photography from a coworker.

In 1999, he began exploring web design, combining his graphic design and photography skills to branch into videography.

In 2013, inspired by a friend’s interest in Comic-Cons at the time, Gene created Twisted Carnival and its first characters: OzBo, Akain, Ringmaster, and LoSho.

The following year, he launched his filmmaking career with his first independent Twisted Carnival feature, “Documentary of OzBo,” which gained popularity in the southeastern U.S.

In 2020, Gene decided to reboot the film as a series. After audience testing, he chose to scrap the first episode and reshoot it with a new cast.

By 2021, he released “Twisted Carnival Chapters 1 and 2,” which quickly gained traction online.
